Fauna Salvage & Relocation

Fauna salvage and relocation is an important and integral part of environmental quality assurance for construction and development projects. Many of these projects require the removal of vegetation (native and exotic), and water bodies which are an important habitat for a wide range of animals.

Wildlife CSI staff monitor the removal of fauna habitat (“clearing and grubbing”) and salvage and relocate fauna (threatened and non threatened species) to suitable habitat away from construction activities.

All animals observed, captured and relocated are recorded with details of species, GPS location of observation, capture and relocation point. This data is provided to the client as well as government wildlife authorities (wildlife database/atlas records).

Wildlife CSI staff regularly work with heavy machinery and hand-clearing crews.

Wildlife CSI has the required wildlife management authorisation from the Victorian Government and can obtain similar permits from other State and Territory governments. Wildlife CSI staff have construction industry red/white card, insurances and specialist equipment.

Wildlife CSI staff and associates have in excess of 20 years experience in wildlife management, including the use of tranquiliser rifles.
